Ice Cream

ANZAC Day 2013

ANZAC – The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Respected, admired and commemorated for their efforts in saving their nations and allowing the freedom in which we live today.

Lest we forget.

First Summer Ice Cream

Ok so guess what guys, it’s guest-post request time!!! So next term are my half yearlies and being in year 12, they will be more than incredibly hard so I have to organise my guest posts now so they can keep my blog semi-going during said awful period ;)

Here are the details:

  • Due Date: I must have it by 26th January – I start school soon after – blech!
  • Subject of Guest Post: Anything as long as there is a recipe involved (savoury, sweet, beverage – your choice)
  • Requirements of Guest Post: Not absurdly short and at least 5 photos of your finished dish/method and 1 photo of yourself (if you are comfortable with it of course!)
  • How many do I need: 6 people – I already have Carla @ Eat Sweet and Bek @ Crave so 6 more would be fantastic
  • What to do: Basically, the first 6 people to email me at gobakeyourself@yahoo.com.au will be granted the spot – excess emailers will be put down and contacted for next time I have exams (which I promise you, will continue to come, trust me!)

So if you can, please contact me asap and once I have all future guest posters, I promise to send out a confirmation email :D Thank you!

Now that business out of the way, please enjoy the recipe to come!

Maybe because of my recent trip to India, but I recently realised that I may not have made any ice cream. And we are halfway into the beautiful season of summer with high temperatures, pools and shorts.

You may call me crazy, actually throw rotten tomatoes at me and look at me with disgust. Because summer and ice cream are as inseparable as Jekyll & Hyde. Though ice cream is Hyde because it is the evil – the beautiful, addictive, rich, creamy evil for the hips, thighs and stomach. Oh well, good with the bad ay?

May I just say though, that the recipe I am about to give to you more than makes up for the time lost? I hope I am not being presumptuous… Haha, who am I kidding, I know I am not being presumptuous :D

Nothing Says Thank You Like Ice Cream

My blog now is almost half a year old. Even as I say it I cannot believe how much it has grown since then. From grotty pictures and posts which lasted one paragraph to a slightly more sophisticated style of photography and ultra long posts which I sincerely hope entertain you.

It is necessary though to say that I would never have lasted so long if it weren’t for all of you – the food blogging community – and my friends and family (who go without saying :D)

Nutella Baking Week Continued: Nutella Ice Cream

Before the real post begins, I am sorry to say I won’t be able to show you any frozen ice cream ball photos since it needs to freeze overnight or at least 5-6 hours and I won’t be home tonight to do the blog post. Sincerest apologies. But you won’t be angry in the first place.

I think the entire blogging world knows the simple, quick and delicious Nutella Ice Cream recipes.

Evaporated Milk + Nutella + Ice Cream Maker = Nutella Ice Cream

Welcome 2012 With Mangoes Turned Ice Cream

I wrote in my diary today. I have to mention this obscure fact because I got such a thrill in writing the date – January 1st (whatever) 2012!!!

I cannot believe Christmas, New Years, it has all gone! The festive season is closing to an end again already – just when you think it has all begun!!! But never fear – after all, with 2012 comes new school year, new experiences, new people and lots of new things to do!!! And I am still on holidays for 1 WHOLE MONTH still (jealous?) :P

5In order to commemorate this new year and the fact that Summer is finally making an appearance in our obviously very cold Australia (today is a whopping 28 degrees with blue skies for as far as the eye can see :D), I decided to make something simple, easy and refreshing – I think that screams ice cream, but not the French custard style ice cream, but the Philadelphia style (because it is so much easier!)

Chocolate Chip Baking Week 6: Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream

“Baby, you light up my world like nobody else”

My latest obsession of a song, it totally conveys my emotions felt towards this ice cream. Ever since formal, this song has been running through my head on repeat and when I made this ice cream, I felt like screaming this song into the sky. No joke.
The only difference is that this song definitely knows it’s beautiful. It ain’t looking at the ground (that would be sacrilege) and it doesn’t have hair to flip (uh, gross?) and boy, can everyone in the room see that it is beautiful.

63Needless to say, this has kicked out the delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes out of the ‘Most Creative Chocolate Chip Dough/Cookie’ category because, honestly, I don’t think anything could ever compete. Or, perhaps eating this ice cream on top of the Mini Chocolate Chip Cheesecakes could :P

Popping My Ice Cream

An undoable feat?

I think not.
Almost Bourdain thinks not.
Skye from Masterchef Australia thinks not.
And that is why this ice cream is so swaggering-ly cool.

I am a firm believer in trying new things and sometimes even strange ideas – combining flavours people don’t really expect will give such a positive kick until you tell them afterwards (I put a hint of cinnamon in my mum’s tea once and she loved her tea – I should probably tell her, though I have not done it since)

36This is why you will barely ever see me make the same recipe twice unless it is my staple, and even then I will probably adapt it in some way. I do believe the only recipes I have made and stayed with have been my staple original chocolate chip cookies (which could change due to my upcoming cookie dough baking week) and my brownies from Masterchef.

First Ever Ice Cream Maker Ice Cream

Yes. You heard me right. Guess who got the most amazing ice cream maker in the history of ice cream makers? Oh right, me :)

37

I think we can all safely say that I won’t feel like buying store bought anymore because homemade ice creams are fresher AND easy to make!

18Since this was the first time I did learn a couple of things which I wasn’t too sure of like
