You will all be happy to know that I have come out of the horrible slump of cooking which happened yesterday and which I shall tell you about tomorrow 😉
In order to celebrate this joyous occasion, I made something golden and drippy with butter. Oh boy, lotsa butter…
Obviously by now you know it is a butter cake. A warm, fluffy butter cake with a golden tinge and moist inner… but there is one thing you should know which makes this cake slightly better – a butter sauce…
Yea, I know do I want a heart attack?
Frankly no and I was a little hesitant to pour over warm cakes a rich sauce where MORE butter was the star but the moistness and deliciousness is adds to the cake insane! I kid you not…
I did make very few changes to this cake but only because of certain habits – the recipe is so simple there is actually really nothing to change!
- I greased and sugared my baking tins instead of flouring because I like the crunchy caramelised crust it develops
- The baking time for two mini tins was approximately 30-35 minutes
- I used SRF and omitted the baking powder
- I poked holes all over the warm cake so the sauce drizzled into the cake for an extra kick 😀
There is really nothing else to say I suppose – no life stories or tragedies accompanying this cake. It is simple pure buttery goodness – I topped mine with frozen raspberries but I am sure some buttery popcorn would compliment it quite nicely too 😛
Enjoy this delightfully saucy butter cake from Sweet And Crumby!
It looks like a very special treat! The berries are a nice addition!
