Nutella Baking Week Continued: 4 Ingredient Nutella Brownie Bites

Today was one very hectic day I must say 🙂

Which is why to continue with this glorious week, I decided on making a recipe I had coveted for many a moon and was super simple.

This takes

  • 2 minutes to mix
  • 41010 minutes to bake
  • 3 seconds to eat (if you are a slow eater of course :P)

Three of the ingredients are something every baker keeps in their pantry – flour, eggs and Nutella. The hazelnuts, our fourth ingredient, is really quite optional.

Now let me tell you people something straight. These are rich, thick, fudgy brownies. I couldn’t even taste the floury cakey-ness of them at all. I swear, they are intense. Every small bite taken has a taste like thickened Nutella. There is no mercy from taste at all and I found them to be more impacting in flavour than even my Nutella fudge!

113Like the Molten Nutella Lava Cake of yesterday, these are definitely NOT for the faint hearted. I absolutely place the same warning as yesterday on these beautiful brownie bites.

I claimed before I had a very busy day. That is very true. Out since the morning, home in the afternoon, I had to whip these up in the morning and leave them cooling while I ran (got driven) to the bus. Once out, I enjoyed a large delicious, Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae with crunchy caramel pieces and a tempered chocolate garnish (now, now do not be jealous :P). Moving on, lots of fun and window shopping and then I was home again (too soon!)

Then I remembered – BLOG POST DUE BEFORE 12AM. So I set to the tedious task *sarcasm* of trying my brownie. I thought I should be relatively ok for this even after my delicious overload since there was no butter or sugar or chocolate involved. So I went to take a bite, thinking ‘this will be so light, a piece of cake’ and into my stomach it sank with a satisfying thud and the description above ran through my head. Nice.

69But obviously, it was well worth it. I love a good fudgy brownie any day 🙂
After all: “Everything I do, I do it for you” (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams

What I love about this recipe in particular are its many adaptations and flexibility – you can change its flavour, texture and even entire dessert – here’s how 🙂

  • Replace hazelnuts with a pinch of cinnamon and some peanuts – they are delicious with Nutella 🙂
  • Add a touch more flour (make the recipe around 6-7 tbs) and make it SR (self raising) for a cakey-er texture
  • You can actually make 4 ingredient Nutella cookies as well – it is basically the same recipe except there are no hazelnuts (unless you want to use hazelnut meal or just add it in), 1/4 cup sugar is added, the flour is increased to 1/2 cup and the egg amount is halved (source here)

Also, for all you people who like the traditional brownies, it is simple to make a Nutella brownie with your favourite brownie. I have done this with my gorgeous go-to cocoa brownies and all there is really is adding 1/2 cup of Nutella into the batter – simple 🙂

211So here you have it folks, a delicious batter with no rush, hurry or fuss. Enjoy (and tomorrow, I bring a little twist to traditional Indian dessert – can’t leave out the heritage can I now :D)

Oh and, here is where I found this 4 ingredient recipe – Thanks Savory Sweet Life!
