Well, since you have asked, how could I possibly refuse right? Thanks to Garlos JAG , I was asked to try out their new service. JAG is one of the newest, most innovative ways of earning a few extra treats on the side for doing not very much.
The basic gist is: Earn points by watching advertisements. Keep earning those points till you have enough. And then BAM! Don’t get hit by a bus (Phoebe from Friends reference there if you got it!), but convert those points into gift cards!
This works out because JAG combines the best of bringing together various advertisers and their potential consumers, offering feedback and giving back a portion of this to JAG to share with all their members via these gift cards and promotions.
And these rewards could not be any easier to get! For amazing retailers ranging from the delicious juices at Boost to the wonderful world of IKEA, these gift cards act as awesome coupons!
But if you want to see the entire range available, that is just located right here 🙂
JAG ideas group is actually not just located in Australia however. Australia is its newest branch… um… due to my lack of vocab… branching out from Hong Kong and Taiwan where it originated!
When Garlos contacted me, he took me through the whole procedure to sign up and start earning some points right away. It is simple and easy, and your first hundred points are actually a snap!
- Fill out the membership form on their website
- Like their Facebook Page
- Download their App on your phone so you can earn a few points while commuting about the place!
- Refer your friends!
When you finish all these steps, they all actually increase your points, which is of course, another plus! And substantially so, giving you an extra 50-100 points! On JAG, they also regularly contact you with different types of promotional offers, such as some ads offering a larger amount of points.
I found that I really enjoyed using JAG. They are an easy way to see new products, while earning a little extra. While you often have to share the ad you have watched to gain your points on social networks, they will be introducing various other activities such as surveys and sweepstakes to earn the points!
I am not keen on sharing all the ads therefore this will work much better with me.
So if you are sold, and would like to earn some points, go ahead and sign up! (And try earn points faster than me :P)
To read some more opinions, here are some other fabulous Sydney bloggers’ posts:
Disclaimer: Go Bake Yourself was sponsored by JAG to write about their service, but all thoughts and opinions expressed are her own.
Now, watching ads is basically like watching television. And in my opinion, in my most humble of all opinions, watching TV basically forces you to eat something a little decadent, and a little enjoyable.
It forces you to eat something that makes your tastebuds do the Can-Can, while your eyes devour the screen, while your nose is assaulted by the wafting scent of delicious ingredients.
Sounds about right no?
But sometimes an oily packet of chips with salt and vinegar remnants plastered to the sides is just not enough. I don’t have anything against it, just sometimes, it is not the way to go!
I don’t believe the problem is the chips. it’s just, on the occasion, I find snacking, completely in its own right, a little ‘unsatisfying’, But who has the time then, to whip up a gourmet meal all of a sudden?
Well. Maybe that isn’t a problem anymore?
You see, this pasta (I timed it) took a total of 25 minutes to make. And that is predominantly because I am quite the inexperienced chopper. Ridiculously slow if I admit it myself.
But you wonderful people with them knife skills – what even is the issue right? 😛
It takes 11 minutes to boil the pasta. In that time, don’t be like me and watch TV! Chop up those veggies, heat up the fry pan so that as soon as the pasta finishes, you tip it into the sauce (which takes two minutes).
So really. A 15 minute mini meal 🙂
After all, if the Italians can consider it an entree, why can’t we?
Rigatoni alla Partenopea
Adapted from: Barilla’s Classic Italian Recipes
Ingredients:
- 250g Barilla’s Rigatoni Pasta
- 3/4 jar of Barilla Ricotta Sauce (300g roughly)
- 1/2 a large eggplant, washed and diced
- 1/4 punnet cherry tomatoes, washed and halved
- 1 handful of grated Mozzarella
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tbs salt
- Mixed Italian Herbs (optional)
- Basil leaves (optional)
- Parmesan cheese (optional)
Method:
- In a large saucepan, add in 2 1/2 L of water and bring to fast boil.
- Add in the salt, then the rigatoni pasta and cook for 11 minutes, or till al dente.
- Drain pasta and set aside, making sure you cover it so it doesn’t dry out.
- While the pasta is being made, heat up 2 tbs of olive oil in a frypan. Add in the diced eggplant and fry till soft and brown.
- Add in the cherry tomatoes and the Ricotta sauce, bringing the mixture to simmer. Mix through a handful of mozzarella, till melted into the sauce.
- Bring the heat to low and add in the cooked pasta and toss till completely covered in the sauce./
- Serve, drizzled with some extra olive oil, and garnished as desired 😀
Notes:
- The Ricotta sauce worked really well in this pasta, because it was much richer than your normal pasta sauce and the undertones of ricotta really went well with the eggplant
- You can top this pasta with some chilli flakes for a little bit of an Arrabbiata pasta (spicy)
- There is no limit or rigidity to this recipe – add in meat, any vegetables you want (I recommend trying zucchini, olives, and maybe roasting the tomatoes!)
- The title literally translates to ‘Napoletana Rigatoni’ 😀

I do something called Swagbucks that sounds familiar to Jag. I’ve earned two $50 PayPal deposits in the last year, and I barely shop online. That’s how I earned my points mostly, online shopping, doing searches with the swagbucks search engine, and having the toolbar. There’s so many other ways to earn points but I’m too lazy to do anything else, lol. Still is nice having a bonus for doing the things i already do online! And your pasta looks amazing – gotta love simple quick meals that are this delish!
