Marathoning

Don’t Forget to enter my giveaway!

(Australians only sorriiiiie!)

Ok… now I can continue my post 🙂

I just coined the word.

Jokes, everyone uses it, in fact there is no red squiggly line under it, but I’d like to believe I was one of the first. Because I use it so much now you know? imagination truly is a gift.

Anyways, so you all should be proud of me, because your small not-so-little baker girl is marathoning. That’s right, I have signed up for… one, two, three…. 5 different marathons! I know right??? I can’t even believe myself!

And I am not even stopping there I want to marathon WAY more! It is like a drug, once you start it is hard to stop! I almost worry about how I am going to continue marathoning once uni starts, I mean who even has the time right? It goes on and on for hours but each one is a gift 😀

I actually just finished my first marathon on Saturday and phew, was I exhausted, seriously never had that feeling before! I was pumped, the adrenalin had really kicked in and I could feel my palms tingling. My eyes were bloodshot and I actually just wanted to sleep, couldn’t even be bothered eating!

I know. I couldn’t eat. It was just about inhuman.

DSC_0014

And everyone is so supportive. Like, as in, when I told all my mates, they were so excited for me. They keep calling me now and messaging me to talk about them, see how I am feeling and if I am ready for what the marathon will bring and I always tell them ‘Guys, I had a good breakfast and I am ready. Bring it on.’

Pressing on though, how do you all get ready for a marathon though? Moi? Je… nope, my French is just about extinct now. 😛

I always get up early in the morning, and then go have breakfast A grumbling stomach just won’t do when in the midst of an intense marathon right? Then I get into my comfiest clothes. Albeit, they are far from stylish, and in fact, resemble my pyjamas but I believe my mind should be on the marathon as opposed to how I look.

And then I fluff my pillows.

Then I get a giant blanket.

Then I get a bowl of popcorn and some chips and some lollies and some Tim Tams and some… you know what? You get the picture.

Then I get my laptop. I plug it in real smooth so the juice keeps it going.

DSC_0028

Then I lay down, cradling my laptop.

Then I disappear for the rest of the day.

Confused? What… I don’t understand why would… but I…. ooooooh.

I’m so sorry I was not obvious was I. When I said ‘marathoning’ you thought running? WHAT? I’m sorry who do you think I am? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

DSC_0023

You guys are hilarious! You expect me, a baker fatty lover whose exercise regime is shorter than her TV shows to marathon? Oh god… ahahaha… I am wiping tears!!

My five marathons? Not Bondi to Coogee or some insane track race! Noooo, not at all! My five marathons currently are:

DSC_0006

  1. The Mindy Project (because Mindy should be every (Indian) girl’s idol)
  2. Avatar Aang + Korra
  3. Doctor Who (again)
  4. Jane the Virgin (because she has the hottest guys)
  5. Big Bang Theory

IMG_9367

And you know, now that I am writing this, I think I have a few more marathons I should start… hmmm 😛

I actually just finished Avatar and Korra on Saturday (and I couldn’t eat because I had been eating all day without moving… 😛 )

So yes. I apologise for any misconceptions that I may have inadvertently formed in your beautiful minds but no, I can’t run for shiz. But if you want to discuss the hottest TV shows, feel free to call me (maybe?) 😉

So tell me lovely people – do you prefer marathoning TV shows or the traditional running style? 😀

Well regardless of our marathoning differences, I think we can all be brought together by these incredible Brownie cookie sandwiches I made for the Sydney Bloggers Picnic I wrote about last post! I mean, if you are a TV show hoarder like myself, then these cookies will keep you eating and keep those eyes glued to the screen 😛 (trust me I should know!)

If you are running (kudos to you mates!), well run like a plate of these babies are waiting for you at the end. Cos ain’t nobody going to beat you if you have motivation that comes in the form of crumby, melt-in-mouth cookies softened up a little bit by nutella cream cheese frosting.

Yes.

I did say Nutella.

No need to thank me guys (though I accept applause 😉 )

  9. Meanwhile make the Frosting: Beat the cream cheese and Nutella together till smooth. Add in the icing sugar, beating after each 1/2 cup put in till desired smooth consistency. If too dry, add a spoon of milk, or if too liquidy, add a touch more sugar.
  10. Frost cooled cookies with a tablespoon of frosting (depending on cookie size) and squish a similar sized cookie on top to make a cookie sandwich.
  11. Be grateful we live in a friggin’ awesome world where we have access to these brownie cookies 😀

  1. Congratulations on completing your first marathon! Oh boy, I need to catch up with Doctor Who, I didn’t like the new girl in the show. To answer your question, I really prefer traditional running or just walking miles and miles. The cookies look so good, wish I can eat them!

OH yes… the only marathon you will catch me doing is a TV marathon. LOL! I have done many cases of binge watching shows like Good Wife, Once Upon a Time etc… I don’t even stop to eat sometimes… but if these cookies sandwiches were about… I would definitely stop for some!

I knew you weren’t running a marathon, Uru…I’m with you when it comes to such things, lol…I was hoping it was a baking marathon of some sorts but TV, oh my…never touch the stuff more than once a week, lol…I still think a baking marathon is more your style. I mean seriously, just look at those lovelies and, they are filled with Nutella. Now, a Nutella Marathon, well, that’s a whole other story!!!

Thanks for sharing, Uru now go back to your marathoning, lol…(oooo I coined a word:)

Your type of marathoning is my favorite kind: umm Sailor Moon on hulu, say what?!?! Oh, and marathoning through all the Hunger Games books AND movies in a week…phew! If we were in the same physical space we would never get anything done, I can tell you that much XD you rock, girlllll

  14. Should’ve been suspicious when you said your marathoning clothes looked like pyjamas! I’m your kind of marathoner. I’d like to be the other kind but my knees are done for, so as to not miss out on marathoning, I use the couch, TV, remote and food kind as well. These look perfect for one of those days 🙂

  15. Okay, I caught on to you as soon as you said 5 marathons…see if you had said 2 you would have had me but 5? Nah… but there’s all kinds of marathons & what works for you is what’s important. You sure you’ve trained enough?

  16. Now this is my exact idea of a marathon! Both your delicious baking and the incredible dvd/tv fest! Lol, obviously I’m a bit biased being a preggy lady, but it sure seems like an awesome way to while away my hours too. Bonus, you could try a french film fest to perk up your language skills too 😉

Am not able to marathon TV watch so much with my schedule, but am all over Dr. Who. Just found that netflix has the Capaldi disks out–yay! Tell me about your favorite doctors and companions and episodes.

  19. thank goodness you were not talking about running–I marathon with my youngest son–so far we have marathoned Community, Parks and Rec, and a bunch of others I cannot remember right now–I have marathoned Big Bang Theory in the past because sometimes on long holiday weekends we have a station who will just play series like these back to back.
