All About Choc Chip Uru

Hello everyone! Well, this was a long time coming – a rewrite of my ‘all about me page’ – you know, since I have changed quite a bit since I started this blog! 😉

But to all those who are new and visiting (firstly, WELCOME!), let’s start from the top. My name is Urvashi, but I go by Choc Chip Uru! (Cute I know :P)
I was in Year 10 and an avid baker. Every weekend, during my free time I was in the kitchen, whipping up something or another. It was beyond an obsession.

Doctor who is also a love!

Doctor who is also a love!

Scary, I know, I mean, most year 10s are too busy straightening their hair and wishing for their braces to come off! Anyway, I started documenting my bakes, because I wanted to keep a record of what I was doing. Amateur photographs without lighting, random scattered folders all over my computer, and small snippets of writing in a word document, telling me the date, where and when I made the dessert.

A blog, basically, in every sense, without being online.

One night, my mum and I were just casually chatting, when she said to me ‘Uru, why don’t you start a real blog?’
Pssht. That was my reply. As if anyone would want to read all about me or my bakes. Nothing special, nothing important at all!

But apparently, like in most cases (though I hate to admit this), my mum was right. For some unknown reason, I listened to her, and set up a wordpress.com blog and began to blog. First 100 word posts with photographs to make you cry. Then longer posts with ok photos. Then even longer posts and more photos. And it just kept going.

You wonderful people just kept reading!!!

review title

I love blogging, simple as that. It has been three years almost now, and I have such amazing friends, worldwide! Everyone is so talented out there and continue to inspire me 😀
And it is not only fun, it is an outlet to express creativity and all my thoughts. Call this a personal online journal if you will 🙂

Any major changes? Not the in near future, but over the years, actually quite a few – I mean, first I was just baking. Then I started reviewing (and LOVED it!). Then I moved from wordpress.com to my own website (a very hard decision I know now because of SEO difficulties, but hopefully it will be fixed over time).

Challenges? Yes. Regrets? None.

Isn’t that what blogging is all about though? 😀

If you want to learn more about, or contact me, just shoot a message to: gobakeyourself@yahoo.com.au
Also, you can message me though my Go Bake Yourself Facebook Page!

Ciao for now mes cheris!

Amazing story – your intro is very personable – I love your rules! I am so excited to have found you and will be following and liking shortly. Love the new ideas. I am always baking cupcakes (vegan) that fit my long list of qualifications to take with me to b-day parties and the like. It is such a bummer that most children’s parties contain the gross store bought kind! My favorite is the Vegan Tirimisu – but it has Kahlua in it so you may have to wait on that one 🙂
My blog is the word for word story of my year as an exchange student in Sydney! when I was 17. It was an amazing journey that has been really fun to reconnect with. However, blog wise I Stick to my exact journal entries (I spare no detail so I warn you it’s pretty detailed :))
Nice to meet you and find your blog!

Beautiful pictures! Do you think kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) could be substituted? Pumpkin is available for such a short time here in Hawaii but I can usually find the kabocha. If yes, what cheese would work? Cheddar or something milder?
    Much aloha.

    • Hi I assume you are talking of the mango pancakes? I definitely think pumpkin could be used as well though perhaps add in more sugar 🙂 – Cheese I am not too sure about though 🙂

  15. How exciting to learn about the girl behind all these fabulous recipes!! After reading this I realize we have a lot more in common than I thought!

I too am a fellow chocolate lover…sometimes with a drizzle of caramel 😉 Baking is one of my fav past times although I like to think of myself more as a writer who just happens to love baking 😀

Aaaannndd a fellow foodie stalker?? *gasp* 😉 Hehehe pleased to meet your acquaintance then!!

Well, I totes love your site…I used to have a baking blog but wasn’t able to update it as often as I wanted to because of school work and what not. But, I couldn’t stay away for too long because I just love it too much…and meeting fellow foodies is always fun! But I don’t need to tell you that! 🙂 Soo, I FINALLY got back into the blogosphere. And just so you know, I occasionally blog on Living the Gourmet, that is my mom’s blog (yes, cooking runs in the family :D) but I also have my personal blog for random musings via ‘Afterthoughts’. Sometimes I’ll link to both in my comments…I don’t mean to confuse you or anything! Haha…well, my comment is getting wayy too long.

Cya around the web Uru! It was great ‘meeting’ you.

Your color scheme is my favorite as I”m sure you’ve seen when visiting my blog. I’ve toyed with the idea of switching over to wordpress from blogger but am nervous about moving everything. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have made all the updates and changes I want.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Enjoy your last years of high school and I hope you’ll continue blogging when in college. Who knows at the rate you’re going you may have a book published before finishing college.

Hello https://gobakeyourself.com/about/ admin. I discovered your “Where Did I Come From? Go Bake Yourself” page via Google but it was hard to find as you were not on the front page of search results. This means you are missing out on a ton of website traffic from Google. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your rankings and traffic to your site: http://www.linklegends.com/7-day-free-trial. They managed to get close to 1000 visitors/day using their services, you could also get lot more targeted visitors from search engines than you have now. I used their services and got significantly more traffic to my website. Hope this helps 🙂 Take care.

I love that you are so young. My niece is an artist, you can see the “logo” she did for me on my Facebook page or on my Twitter background, and I keep telling her to put herself out there online. The sooner she does it the better and it should help you (and her) get into college, seeing something like this that you are dedicated to with a certain quality of work that you have can bring nothing but good things to you. I also started by randomly searching webblog hosting sites.

    Like

    • The logo is beautiful – I am sure your neice could get a lot of publicity this way as well as enjoy and share her beautiful artwork with the world! Before I was just baking. Now I am actually baking for fun and for a goal!
As for the college idea, I never really thought about it but you are right – this is actually very useful for that 🙂
