Happy 2nd Blogiversary!

And I thought a one year anniversary was a milestone! 😛

That’s right, 2 years ago, on this very day (though I admit, it was probably not a Tuesday), Go Bake Yourself was born. It was a difficult birth, as all births are, with a majorly long labour period and the pains, OH, the pains! You keep clicking and hoping everything is going to be ok, but it still hurt so much when you forget to save your changes or something!

And I wasn’t even at a computer hospital if I needed help!

I was staggering under the weight – should I choose this theme, why is my screen black, oh no, the cramps are starting in my legs from sitting down too long – pain right?

And then slowly, painfully, it took all day at the desk, Go Bake Yourself was born. Pronounced a food blog, she was quite a white creation, with a gorgeous green highlight and black frangipani designs. How I wish I had print screened her, but back in those days, I was new to the whole ‘blogger’ thing!

As she grew, more and more people began to notice her sweetness and desperation love of chocolate. I was quite flattered actually 😉

Guest Post #3: Creamy Peach Dulce de Leche Trifle

Hi everyone, can you believe it? Finally, I am this close to Graduation (Imagine me pinching my pointer finger with my thumb) 😀 – And with graduation comes performances, baking, class parties, baking, muck up days and lots of baking!

Before I graduate though, here I am ploughing through my workload because before every beautiful part of life, comes this hideous, clawing at your neck part known as my final exams. Eep! And because I cannot bake my butt off right now, I would like you to enjoy a huge range of wonderful guest posters especially chosen just for you!

So close to the end of school, I can taste it! Au revoir mes cheris!

Surely, you would remember Paula from Vintage Kitchen Notes right? A while back now, she guest posted for me, creating this beautiful Brown Butter Pound Cake w/ Fig Compote dessert!

Paula is one of the most creative bloggers I have the pleasure of knowing, with her professional photography style and some of the best dishes I have ever seen and could never hope to make! 🙂

That is why it is so nice to have Paula back again, with another pound cake dessert (she really does love that cake!) but completely twisted into a gooey trifle perfect for summer! Thanks Paula 😀

Bonjour mes cheris, get excited for me! After I finish these exams I am wading through right now, half of year 12 will be forever finished and over with! YAY!

Mais non, focus, FOCUS! It certainly is not over yet no matter how much I dream about year 12 formal. Ah, c’est la vie!

Anyhow, while I am not here to give you recipes, tips, tricks and well, my blog, I have some pretty fan-friggin-tastic fabulous chefs lined up to do so instead! A whole range of dishes for you to enjoy while I am on this undesired break  – You won’t even notice my absence I promise!

See you soon for the April holidays and wishing you all a marvelous Easter break! Promise me you will chow down on what that Easter Bunny brings you/your chocolate loot stashed in the bottom of your drawer – Yes, I am on to you all

Paula. Vintage Kitchen. Both names/titles have a certain air of success about them. I say ‘Paula’, you say ‘Chef’ 🙂 – When she offered to do a guest post, I was definitely off my face happy! She is witty and so talented at photography so team that up with her cooking and you have a winner!

Don’t be holding your breath for an average recipe my friends because Paula of the brilliant Vintage Kitchen Notes is about to show you the classical pound cake with her own not-so-vintage twist as she reminisces about summer 😀

Hey everyone, I´m Paula and I´m so happy to be having this chat with you all and sharing one of my favorite cake recipes. I’m sure Uru would have no problem if we all dropped by unannounced bearing cake and asking for a cup of coffee. She is, after all, one of the friendliest persons ever to cross the blogosphere, and a talented chocolate alchemist as well. It´s a treat to be guest posting here.

Supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus-ism

As if this ‘word’ needed to be made any longer!

IMG_5790

But like ‘cubism’ or ‘realism’ or ‘impressionism’ or any of the ‘-isms’ which my English teacher seems to believe applies to every English word in the dictionary (humanism, beliefism, train-trackism – whatever, the context, believe you me there will be an –ism in there!), I decided that one of the most famous words in the history of English should really join the party. And thus…

Supercalafragalisticexpialadoshusism was born. 🙂

IMG_5808

There are some concepts in this world which have a supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus-ity about them.

What I mean when I use this convoluted but very catchy word is that there are concepts which are hit-you-in-the-head-with-a-brick painful.
