The Big V Day Musings

This recipe isn’t necessarily just for Valentines Day. I mean, as much as I hate to admit it, not everyone holds the capacity to eat a whole batch of cupcakes. No, not even me. But if you are one person, and you can make two moist, chocolatey cupcakes with just enough frosting to decorate it AND spoon the extra, why make any more?

The sweet, berry-filled frosting combined with the delicious richness of the cupcakes really does take these to a whole new level. If you are making them for Valentines Day though, I worn you. You might not be able to share it with your soul mate… legit. If they aren’t your soul mate, I wouldn’t even consider sharing them.

CCU Undercover: Embossed Rolling Pins @ Bezalel Art Shop

review title

There are time when I get emails that don’t just make me happy. They make me grin, throw my hands around a little and get super excited! Well, I was getting off the bus after a slog of a day at uni, and BAM! What should light up my day… night… like an email from Denis Savelyev, owner of the Bezalel Art Shop @ Etsy.com.

For those living under their rocks. Etsy houses creators of all sorts, ranging from specialty outfit to customised iPhone cases, to just about anything artsy, hipster and beyond your usual ‘Homemaker’ shops. They bring ‘vintage‘ to a whole new level, often shipping worldwide.

Denis exemplifies this, by being the creator of not only handcrafted earrings and pendants in unusual, innovative designs, but of the vogue new trend;

Embossed Rolling Pins.

Guest Post #6: Lemon Shortbread & Nutella Sandwich Cookies

Hi everyone, can you believe it? Finally, I am this close to Graduation (Imagine me pinching my pointer finger with my thumb) 😀 – And with graduation comes performances, baking, class parties, baking, muck up days and lots of baking!

Before I graduate though, here I am ploughing through my workload because before every beautiful part of life, comes this hideous, clawing at your neck part known as my final exams. Eep! And because I cannot bake my butt off right now, I would like you to enjoy a huge range of wonderful guest posters especially chosen just for you!

So close to the end of school, I can taste it! Au revoir mes cheris!

Supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus-ism

As if this ‘word’ needed to be made any longer!

IMG_5790

But like ‘cubism’ or ‘realism’ or ‘impressionism’ or any of the ‘-isms’ which my English teacher seems to believe applies to every English word in the dictionary (humanism, beliefism, train-trackism – whatever, the context, believe you me there will be an –ism in there!), I decided that one of the most famous words in the history of English should really join the party. And thus…

Supercalafragalisticexpialadoshusism was born. 🙂

IMG_5808

There are some concepts in this world which have a supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus-ity about them.

What I mean when I use this convoluted but very catchy word is that there are concepts which are hit-you-in-the-head-with-a-brick painful.

World Nutella Day 2013

Agreeably, the day to commemorate the gooiest, chocolatiest, hazelnuttiest and most decadent breakfast spread in the world was actually a whole 5 days ago but better late than never right?

Oh who am I kidding, I celebrate Nutella just about everyday – or I would if the whole ‘fat’ thing was not an issue (people with metabolism, I am so glaring at you ;))

Anyhow, on Nutella Day, I celebrated by the simple spooning process. The fun and non-complicated method of stuffing the spoon into the jar (no less than 500g of course!) and slathering it with Nutella then licking it like an ice cream cone. But oh my god, it is actually better.

Did I bake something this year? I was planning to – honestly I was – but then my history sneaked up and clonked me on the head with a particularly large hammer and when I came back to my senses, I was sitting in my chair and it was already Sunday afternoon with school looming the next day. That subject is a sneaky one!
