We have so many celebratory options in October it seems it is not even funny. Any type of celebration you want seems to be available in this month which kind of makes it really awesome. If I be brutally honest, it should be a holiday month. Do tell the board of education that 😉
But seriously, let’s see, do you want…
- A scary movie marathon? – Halloween
- To stuff yourself like there is no tomorrow? – Thanksgiving (admittedly not for all countries, Australia included, but I go along with it anyway ;))
- To have a night to let loose – Octoberfest
Hi everyone, I am hitting the books and trying to pass the last exams of year 11. Can you believe there will only be one more year of school left then? I am SO stoked 😀 😀
Anyway, a couple of months back, I asked for your guest posts during this period and I was lucky enough to get a huge response – thank you all so much!
I promise you will not miss me, in fact, you will groan when I come back, becase I have so many wonderful guestposts lined up for you all! I hope you discover some wonderful new bloggers who tantalise your tastebuds like they do mine! Enjoy mes amis!
Should you need to contact me, I am more than at service through my email: email@example.com or just leave a message on my facebook page: Go Bake Yourself
Also a significant note, I lost over 60-70 followers through some freak wordpress issue so please, if you were one of them and you have recently visited again, resubscribe – thank you!
Now I leave you to it… 🙂
UPDATE 30th June: Sorry guys but my Food Buzz sharing does not seem to be working completely so I may not be able to comment on all the blogs I usually do – sorry about that! Hope it will be fixed soon 🙂
HIIIIII, GUESS WHO IS ON HOLIDAYZZZZZ (yeah, I’m kind of cool enough to put ‘z’ instead of ‘s’ :P)
Do you want to know what this means? Like Joey would say ‘Yeah, you do!’ This means I will be posting just about every second day. Yea, lots more chocolate recipes for you 🙂
You want to know why? Because I can 🙂
You know what else? Already, I have revamped my recipe index – why? Because I can 😀
And it feels so good 😀 – I missed you all! I missed the foodie community, the commenting and checking out hundreds of wonderful delicious posts 🙂
All’s well that ends well? We’ll see…
I guess you want and deserve an explanation – let me tell you in a little series:
1. I went on holiday for a week – my school term finished, I needed a break so I had an awesome time chilling out (literally it was snowing!) in Tasmania 🙂
2. I actually have 3 weeks’ worth of exams starting in 1 1/2 weeks time so I have to study more than cook (*sigh*)
Don’t tell me you have never done it before. Don’t go pushing your glasses up your nose and flicking an imaginary speck off your business suit. You are not making eye contact, just staring at your screen typing away, mouth set in a grim line while I accuse you. Don’t lie to me. I don’t know why you are lying to me. When everyone has done it before.
You look up at me sharply when I say that. You subtly look both directions before giving me a slight nod to continue. And I do.
This weekend was mad in the kitchen. This weekend I baked two dishes and neither. one. had. chocolate.
It is not even a case of rustling up a one person dish for myself like my last post which was exploding chocolate-y goodness. I just did not bake with chocolate, my melts resting comfortably away in their pantry instead of screaming and running amuck like usual. Not that I would know of course 😉
And what is even more astounding that the cookie batch and the mini cakes batch would be perfect for a tea party. You know what else goes well with tea/hot chocolate, oh whoops there I go again, chocolate!
I feel my temperature running high, my head starting to spin – I simply must have been quite delusional as to do this to myself and to my family (who actually sacrilegiously prefer it this way!)
I went on a blog once. I saw an ingredient commemoration day. And I was gone. Now I know that there is National Pancake Day, National S’mores Day, National Ice Cream MONTH!
A very cute idea that, being the patriotic food lover I am, I simply must assist in 😉
My secret, I mean, my normal peanut butter stash 😉
Now, obviously today is the day placing peanut butter on a pedestal – Here are some amazing peanut butter desserts which blow me away:
And more! Obviously I am a peanut butter obsessed little girl 😀 (but only in desserts or sandwiches… mmmmmm)
Warning: Before this post begins, please take into account that this post is extremely long, has two recipes involved and has an overdose of chocolate and photos
Wow, it feels like such a long age since I last posted! Don’t be mad at me 😛 – After my last post which was delicious but healthy, sugarless and with a lack of chocolate, I knew my next post had to have a chocolate explosion – and what better way to do that I ask you than by doing a chocolate filled combination post??? 😀
Willy Wonka: [hands Charlie a ladle full of chocolate] “Try some of this. It’ll do ya good. You looked starved to death!”
So where does the ‘celebration’ part of all this come into play? Well for one, my mummy is returning home after going overseas 😀
Finally, no more cleaning and dusting and cooking – jokes jokes (especially if you are reading this mum ;))
Before I begin this post, let me get one thing straight. I do not depression eat. But I am a baker (so you have seen throughout my holidays) and therefore am in dire need of relieving my deflated self at the thought of going back to school. And it is no longer just school. It’s senior school. And whoever I talk to jumps to the conclusion that being senior school, I am in for the tough.
I didn’t say Year 12, I said Year 11. Remember?
But it does freak me out a little – a 17 year old me, peer support to little year sevens when I myself can remember that not-too-distance past? Hopefully getting my P-Plates. Ok, now I might need to eat because my heart rate has accelerated. Breathe… relax and remember – I can bake to relax 🙂

Yep, that’s right, Nutella baking week has taken a barbie-fied turn to placate all the divas, the girly girls, the princesses, the fairies and pink lovers in general. There is no place here today for boorish brutes or yucky muck or anything like that – sorry boys 😛
If you can’t dress in pink, don’t even think!
Why did I take such an extraordinarily pink turn in my Nutella week? It definitely was not because I liked the two recipes this combination post involves or anything and found them interesting. Not at all *sarcasm*…
