Guest Post: Aloo Matar

Despite having not been around that often, I haven’t forgotten about all the blogging friends I have made over the past three years (crazy right!?) One of the amazing people I have been lucky enough to know is Minnie over from The Lady 8 Home. This blogger is basically a superwoman, she literally has it all under control 🙂

Not only that though, she cooks like a pro, I mean look at this Aloo Matar (literal translation from my mad Hindi skills: Potato Pea Curry).

I know majority of you know of her awesomeness already but for those who don’t, you are about to be blown away by a scrumptious recipe made by a fabulous blogger – enjoy mes cheris!

The Best First Sicilian Dish Ever

Hi guys! Miss me? Well.. if you did, can you keep it up, miss me for maybe 2 or 3 more days? Because then I can finally tell you why I have been all over the place (literally)!

For now, enjoy this delicious guest post by Hanna Johnson! And yes, it is a recipe (finally, am I right??)
If any of you are living in Australia at the moment, you will know that

  1. The cold is causing us to lose toes and fingers. Am I the only heater-obsessed person at the moment?
  2. With cold, comes major warm food cravings!

And what better way to combat that cold than with a delicious risotto that warms you up inside out, from head to toe?

A Tale of Bad Drivers

These are the healthiest and tastiest little packages of vegetables you can come across. Steamed? Check. Not oily? Check. Full of veggies? Check. You could literally eat a basketful and it would still be acceptable. How do I know this? Well, because the first time I ever made this recipe, I basically ate that much, and I’m fine (if not better for it 😛 )

Read on for the recipe!

Well guys here we have it, the final guest post and what a smashing way it is to end! Everyone has been so talented, I have loved featuring you all 😀

Today, we change from the usual sweet tooth to a delicious vegetarian savoury dish I would be happy to eat! It looks so golden and puffed up with flavour! Although I apologise for this feature image being a bit fuzzy I have no idea why it is like that 😛

I am sure MANY of you also know the fabulous blogger behind this dish, of course, it is Nazneen from Coffee and CrumpetsWith her knack for food styling, and cooking and photographing, I know you will all enjoy this post!

A Peek Into Som Tam

Do you have a bucket list? Of course you have a bucket list, everyone has a bucket list! But CCU, being the strange little munchkin she is, actually has gazillions of bucket lists. Um, just off the top of her head, she has the 30-before-30 (shhh… top secret list!), she has the do-before-you-wed list, she has a 30-with-the-bestie list.

Lots of list, so little time!

She also has a bucket list of restaurants to visit in every restaurant in Australia. And a few restaurants on a global scale. Yes, CCU thinks big, but is that truly so wrong? 😛

So can you imagine her surprise when a restaurant she had on her bucket list from Melbourne asked her to do a review of their menu from all they offer? And try and share one of her recipes with you?

Bucket list magic, it works every time… 🙂

Tell Me About JAG Australia?

Well, since you have asked, how could I possibly refuse right? Thanks to Garlos JAG , I was asked to try out their new service. JAG is one of the newest, most innovative ways of earning a few extra treats on the side for doing not very much.

The basic gist is: Earn points by watching advertisements. Keep earning those points till you have enough. And then BAM! Don’t get hit by a bus (Phoebe from Friends reference there if you got it!), but convert those points into gift cards!

Upside-Down Frown

I never have, nor ever will, be an endorser for religiously following celebrities. Sure, I am that average girl who enjoys reading the gossip mags at times, but I am not one to delve and follow their personal lives, or care much for them on an intimate level. I can’t bring myself to enjoy reaching about Khloe Kardashian’s latest butt job, or Lindsay Lohan’s latest stunt with rehab.

I am not, of course, judging anyone if they do, this is just my preference 🙂

But despite my nonchalant attitude towards their lives, I was genuinely shocked yesterday.

CCU Undercover: Your Fork

CCUUUUUUUU’ – her mother was screaming at her. Again. But could she really blame her? After all, she was sitting in her pyjamas not doing anything. Again. An empty carton of what used to be Chinese takeaway sat sadly on her bedside table.

Guess it’s time to reorder that, CCU mused. Her parents were out for the night so looked like she was getting takeaway again. I mean, sure baking is all good, but what even IS savoury food?

Just as she was about to find the restaurant online, her laptop began to fizz. It began to bubble. Her internet sparked. Suddenly, she was transported to a whole other site than the Chinese restaurant she was virtually going to!

She read it out loud to herself, a little perplexed. “Delivery at home… mumble mumble… fresh ingredients… mumble… homemade easy dishes…’

She found herself grinning, as her interest was piqued, and she threw the Chinese takeaway into the bin!

That did not really happen. Not at all. And disclaimer alert: I am all for Chinese takeaway!

Let me admit now, I am a staunch lover of takeaway and dining out.

I love it when I am out with my friends, and we are sipping cocktails and waiting for our tapas. I love it when I am coming home from uni and take a quick swerve into a very greasy driveway (in more ways than one) for satisfying trans-fats.

Guest Post #4: Fava Santorinis with Shrimps

Hi everyone, can you believe it? Finally, I am this close to Graduation (Imagine me pinching my pointer finger with my thumb) 😀 – And with graduation comes performances, baking, class parties, baking, muck up days and lots of baking!

Before I graduate though, here I am ploughing through my workload because before every beautiful part of life, comes this hideous, clawing at your neck part known as my final exams. Eep! And because I cannot bake my butt off right now, I would like you to enjoy a huge range of wonderful guest posters especially chosen just for you!

So close to the end of school, I can taste it! Au revoir mes cheris!

I know you all will enjoy this beautiful seafood extravaganza, with shrimp being featured for the first time here! 😀
Take it away Katerina!
