A Party To Remember

Can I just rewind the clock and take it back to Christmas time of 2014? Can I take you back to reminisce about all that overeating and indulgent gift giving we all participated in for this post?

I was meant to do this post nice and close to New Years but then I saw running behind schedule, then I went to the Gold Coast and well… now I think I am on track!

I know it is not going to be a hardship or anything for you to turn back time again! Your Instagrams totally showed me how much fun you all were having!

And maybe… you saw mine?

Frazzled

I am literally all over the shop. A metaphorical shop of course, I would love to own a little business though someday… Ok, I am being tangential once more, I told you I am all over the place! 😛

Yesterday, was quite literally (FYI, I will be using literally quite a bit in this post) the first day in ages I haven’t done anything. I sat at home, I watched Fawlty Towers and I ate so much junk food my head started turning.

It was literally, the best day ever. 😀 #noregrets

Holiday Post #2: Scottish Shortbread

Guys, Christmas is only two weeks away – what are you doing here sitting around, not buying your presents, or organising your parties, or ensuring the Christmas turkey can fit in your oven?

Reading my post? Ain’t that sweet, gnawww you guys! Ok fine, but after this you simply must get back to your baking, your making, your gift-wrapping 😀

Where am I (or will I be at this moment, considering I wrote this post a while ago)? Well, I am gambling, drinking and accidentally getting married by an Elvis Impersonator.

JOKES!
I am not 21 yet, so according to US legal stuff, I can’t. 😉

But yes, I am in Las Vegas, seeing the night life, living the dream and not sleeping – I am pretty darn sure I am not sleeping right now 😛
But besides all that, I am still pretty gosh darn (how mild!) excited hat Christmas is coming up!!!

And with Christmas, comes Santa’s favourite cookies… which seem to disappear before Christmas Eve at my place but maybe Santa likes giving me presents early? 😛

Now, I don’t know why there is a little bit of country-ism going on here, especially around such a festive season, but apparently, these shortbread are Scottish.

Merry Christmas my friends, can you all believe the holiday season everyone dreams about is finally here for us 😀 😀 😀 😀

I hope you are all celebrating with family friends this joyous occasion of 2012, with lots of wonderful festivities, food and laughter 🙂

I wish I could be here with you all, and I promise to celebrate with you all belatedly but right now, I am with my family in India as I should be during this fabulous time 🙂

But no fear, no fear, I have some incredible guestposts lined up for you all and I hope each and every one brings a smile to your faces like they did mine – what else is Christmas and New Years about if not grinning? 😀

Happy Holidays!!!

So my friends, once more my exams have come but at least instead of lasting 3 weeks, they are only lasting a week 😀

In order to have some preparation time and all that, I would like you all to give a warm welcome to some stunning guest posts ranging from sweet to savoury (or should I say savoury to sweet) with a little surprise in the middle for you all!

As always, see you all on the other side mes cheris!

So while I am not here today, let me introduce you to one of the bubbliest, coolest and all round awesomest (is that even a word?) bloggers 😀 – Meet Angela who blogs at The Squishy Monster!

She is so versatile in her cooking, like her byline claims, she really does blog ‘Cupcakes to traditional Korean dishes’ and each one is a work of art OR seen through a totally fabulous vlog (video blog!). But I have said enough and you probably want to actually hear from her, herself, so ladies and gentlemen, roll out the red carpet for Angie 😀

A Premature Happy Holidays!

OMG I am totally gushing, Merry Christmas everyone! Look see I brought presents, and cake, and cookies and… wait… it isn’t Christmas yet?

Bu… but… I don’t understand… I went into Myer the other day and they had huge Christmas trees up. I saw them! All beautiful, big and dripping with decorations like wet leaves on a dewy morning (yes, Christmas has a tendency to bring out my awesome poetic skills ;)). I mean, HOW CAN YOU SAY IT IS NOT CHRISTMAS. They already had the presents wrapped and sitting under the trees…

Oh… but the candy canes? And the delicious mince pies in every bakery… oh ok I understand. I thought Christmas came early this year…

Stain Glass Window Cookies And A Final Goodbye

As Christmas approaches, formal approaches and basically, everything points towards the end of another school year. While this is truly fantastic as by going into Year 11, I am finally given the opportunity to study what I want, rather than pointless topography maps in geography, this is also rather sad – my food tech classes finally come to an end, the monotony of study without a decent break in the middle of the week begins and my food blogging must be controlled (but definitely done :))

1I feel a sense of loss at this change – it was expected so I don’t understand why it seems to hit so hard that it is over – I can only suppose it is because I shall never be taught by Ms D again, never bake or cook with friends in that atmosphere and never feel the pride in having a connoisseur smile and say the food you made tastes good – I will miss it all.

Psshaw to the Eiffel Tower Christmas 2010

Actually Written: Term 4 2011

A Coles recipe gone brilliantly right!!! Awww, no that’s mean, a LOT of Coles recipes are good (like the mousse cake), just some I always
find very weird…

Anyway back to this AMAZING Meringue Tower. So easy. So stunning. So cool. So stare-worthy. Yeah, you know it’s true. Basically, we cut
out a cone shape from an A3 sized cardboard sheet (make sure the cone has a level base), stuck it on a box-thick cardboard slate covered with aluminium and
voila, we are ready to stick. Now we made 1 colour meringues, and used/ate m&ms, maltesers, smarties – any chocolate candy really. On top of the cone, we nipped of the tip and forced the
stand of a Christmas decoration on top for a tree-like effect (not that such a
tree would ever even last till Christmas Morn…)

Fond-[ant]-ly Remembering Christmas 2010

Actually Written: Term 4 2010

At the end of 2010, our food tech class went absolutely nuts! My teacher is brilliant, creative and totally not lazy so she organised a ton of awesome
Christmas cooking activities! Thank You, Mrs D!!!

One such was a Christmas fruitcake (non-alcoholic ;P)
It was such a cute, adorable little baby with a brilliant recipe (we gave the pretty cake to our neighbour so I only tasted the batter – not really a shame)
The fondant rolling, colouring and just general working was absolutely brilliant though!!! It was such a new experience that was messy and all hands-on (a.k.a I
LOVED IT!)

Christmas came a little early… because I was hungry

Actually Written: 8th September 2011

Ok so my gift? A day off school because of an industrial
strike. My reasoning – “I have been granted my gift-list = Santa came =
Ate my Brookie = Christmas time = Christmas baking” – Makes perfect sense
right?

Yes I know, exactly, so this morning, the first thing I
did was get up and make mini Christmas puddings. Fast, easy and include
