Guest Post #4: Fava Santorinis with Shrimps

Hi everyone, can you believe it? Finally, I am this close to Graduation (Imagine me pinching my pointer finger with my thumb) 😀 – And with graduation comes performances, baking, class parties, baking, muck up days and lots of baking!

Before I graduate though, here I am ploughing through my workload because before every beautiful part of life, comes this hideous, clawing at your neck part known as my final exams. Eep! And because I cannot bake my butt off right now, I would like you to enjoy a huge range of wonderful guest posters especially chosen just for you!

So close to the end of school, I can taste it! Au revoir mes cheris!

I know. Just looking at the title of this post, I am blown away, imagining a world of gourmet chefs and elegance and classiness beyond the highest of class. But I would not expect anything less of the incredibly talented Katerina from Culinary Flavors, whose range stretches from the most delicious cookies to the most exquisitely exotic dishes like this one 🙂

I know you all will enjoy this beautiful seafood extravaganza, with shrimp being featured for the first time here! 😀
Take it away Katerina!

Surely, you would remember Paula from Vintage Kitchen Notes right? A while back now, she guest posted for me, creating this beautiful Brown Butter Pound Cake w/ Fig Compote dessert!

Paula is one of the most creative bloggers I have the pleasure of knowing, with her professional photography style and some of the best dishes I have ever seen and could never hope to make! 🙂

That is why it is so nice to have Paula back again, with another pound cake dessert (she really does love that cake!) but completely twisted into a gooey trifle perfect for summer! Thanks Paula 😀

Turtles. Tuuuurtles. TURTLES! The first word which pops in my head when I think of the super creative, super fabulous Kim from Cravings of a Lunatic – if you have not heard of  her blog, her insanely delicious and crazy blog, where have you been? 😉

A blogging Willy Wonka if you will, you really have to wonder where she gets her ideas for the insane desserts she shares with her readers!
I am sure you guys are going to enjoy this post to kick off my
guest posts 😀 – Go Kim! Go Turtles (you shall see why…)

****************************

Hi folks. Let me introduce myself before things get a little nutty here. I’m Kim and I blog at Cravings of a Lunatic. It’s a bit of an indulgent blog, I make things like Trix Krispies and Pink Popcorn. I bake way too much and have a serious penchant for anything sweet. I blog savoury food too, but sweets tend to be my first love.

Guest Post: Little Bertha’s Cupcake Secrets

I am so sorry for my erratic posting lately and randomness over the past couple of weeks, but sweeties, it is only going to get worse from here. You see, once upon a time there was a little girl. She had to write the equivalent of 4-5 essays in 3 hours, 3 essays in 2 hours and worry about the question, because it could have been any topic in her courses. She has to listen to a foreign language for 1/2 and hour and be able to perfectly translate it, then write a slightly analytical answer. She has 2 weeks and one day of this, then she has to speak to a stranger who speaks said-foreign-language perfectly.

Ooft.

Oh, and little girl didn’t even get started on having to learn about the lymphatic system’s role in the immune response…

Introducing: Patricia Dean-Escoto & (Another) Giveaway (Closed)

*Just a quick note – if anyone wants to guest post for my blog in August, please email me and let me know, I have a couple lined up but some more never hurt when taking exams 😛 – email me at gobakeyourself@yahoo.com.au*

Now, let us begin this post… enjoy! 🙂

Ok, so do you remember meeting Ms Gluten-Free Machine, Lorna Foreman?
Well, allow me to introduce you another fantastic author – Ms Patricia Dean-Escoto – HOW COOL IS MS DEAN-ESCOTO’S NAME? 😀

But more than the name, more than the cool, it is what Ms DE is trying to promote around the world, and that is preventing cancer, specifically breast. Let me give you some stats:
*Taken from Cancer Australia*

  1. In 2010 in Australia, Breast Cancer was the second leading cause of female deaths by cancer, accounting for 15.3%
  2. In 2009, it was recorded that the likelihood of developing breast cancer before the age of 85 years old was 1 in 8 women
  3. In 1982, the number of breast cancer patients was 5,317 – in 2009, it was 13,668

Is it our environment? Is it natural in humans? What is causing this increase?

For now, cancer is threatening, it is a disease which takes lives easily, it is the stark truth of the matter. While we wait for a drug to be made which will forever eradicate the fatality associated with it, we have to take care of ourselves and promote and encourage our community to as well. This is why I am so proud to be hosting Ms DE, who is promoting this through her wonderful new book, Top Ten Superfoods For Preventing Breast Cancer.

Time To Get Beautiful!

And one, and two, and one, and two, and… oh sorry wait, haha that is to get fit!

And we were talking about getting beautiful! 😀
In my opinion, there are a lot of things which contribute to beauty, here is a little list:

  1. Self-confidence
  2. Good clothes
  3. No stress
  4. Enlightenment – Agreeably, Buddha is really the only one who has achieved this so far but hey, can’t we try?

The idea of beauty is convoluted these days, truly I have to write a post about it soon! But that is later. For now, you can get all off the above and more to make yourself beautiful just by reading Marcela De Vivo’s wonderful article below!

Hello all, I thought I would mix it up a little and give you a taste of something you are not used to on this blog. Health 😉 – Please welcome Tracy Rose, who has been so kind as to write up an incredible post about those with Type II diabetes and even include a delicious pizza recipe mixed with Mexican! To learn more, please visit Health Line!

*****************************************************************

For some people, the doctor’s diagnosis of type II diabetes is like being told they will never be able to enjoy any food again. After all, giving up sugary sweets can be hard, especially if you love cakes, chocolates, and pastries. However, just because you found out you are diabetic doesn’t mean you have to give up everything you love. There are plenty of tasty foods that you can still enjoy. All you have to do is change how you think about your meals and foods. With simple changes, you can still say “yum” when you pick up the fork or spoon.
