CCU Undercover: Ginger Indian Restaurant

Boy, do I have a story to tell you guys. But for that I would need a recipe as well to share with you. So yes, just going to bide my time and wait for that. Sorry! But also, before I begin, thank you all for making me feel better last ‘post’!

Till I write about the above, how about I get that spice back up and on your screen with a review of what is now officially, my family’s favourite Indian restaurant. I have reviewed a couple before, but they don’t hold a candle to this.

And remember I’m Indian. So if we say this Indian place is that good, you know you better believe it! 😛

CCU Undercover: Goodtime Diner

“It’s always a good time! Woah-oooh-oh-oh-oh, Woah-oooh-oh-oh, it’s always a good time!”

CCU removed her earphones with Carly Rae Jepsen’s song that was perfect for the movement. Scouring around Zara in Bondi’s Westfield, she began earnestly searching for the diner! She wasn’t exactly sure where she was going when suddenly, she bumped into a menu stand!!

Typical display of CCU-style clumsy of course!

A little bruised, not really battered, CCU made her way in… and ended up in New Orleans?

A Peek Into Som Tam

Do you have a bucket list? Of course you have a bucket list, everyone has a bucket list! But CCU, being the strange little munchkin she is, actually has gazillions of bucket lists. Um, just off the top of her head, she has the 30-before-30 (shhh… top secret list!), she has the do-before-you-wed list, she has a 30-with-the-bestie list.

Lots of list, so little time!

She also has a bucket list of restaurants to visit in every restaurant in Australia. And a few restaurants on a global scale. Yes, CCU thinks big, but is that truly so wrong? 😛

So can you imagine her surprise when a restaurant she had on her bucket list from Melbourne asked her to do a review of their menu from all they offer? And try and share one of her recipes with you?

Bucket list magic, it works every time… 🙂

CCU Undercover: Three Williams

CCU got off at the wrong bus stop. Typical. What else would you expect from a girl with a big reliance on google maps, a lack of direction and a stomach that had barely been fed since breakfast.

Huffing and puffing, but blowing down no houses, she marched up Elizabeth St. Then down it. Then up again… where was she going? Finally, her google maps gave her a little relief and started working again, leading her to the cafe.

Classically of course, she almost missed it. But that iconic symbol caught her thank GOD and she hustled her way down the steps and into the sweet smelling paradise.

Brasserie Bread Extravaganza Part I

CCU was happy with her new arrangement. Putting the ‘review’ banner was enough – if she kept typing out CCU Undercover as the title for all her posts, she was sure she would explode!

Now that having been said, CCU bit into the fresh and delicious focaccia bread beside her, flexing her fingers and letting them hover them above her keyboard. After the experiences she just had this past weekend, she simply had to do a fantastic write up…

Not. Optional.

CCU reminisced, despite it only being a week later, about the smells of the bakery, the ambience, and most importantly, the various breads she had tried, their crumbs proudly littered all over her laptop. And her bed. And her kitchen. Ok fine, she had eaten bread all around the house (except the bathrooms!).

She had no regrets. It was just that good 🙂
