Birthday CCU Undercover: Little Rock Cafe

NB: This post says it was posted on the 12th of August but it was the 13th in Australia 😀

CCU woke up, a grin widening from ear to ear. She was 17, the big 1-7? Naah, just 17 😀 – the big one would be coming in a year but she was so not going to think of that!
She didn’t feel different, nor did she feel particularly older but OMG, she was 17 and she felt very very excited 😀 😀 😀

To celebrate son anniversaire, she [had her daddy ;)] treat her whole family to a wonderfully big and luscious breakfast. Toast dripping with butter, pancakes… what else could a girl want to turn 17 with???

Changes

UPDATE: Just clarifying that I have not made my likes page yet on facebook (which is why I have asked you all how to make it :D) and I will be posting up a link after I have done so 🙂

The world is constantly changing, we are constantly aging and of course, ever since Einstein invented time, nothing will ever be able to stop, stay at a standstill, or at the very least, go slow motion style like in Matrix 😉

Anyhow, before I go ranting (again) and get off topic as I have a tendency to, there have been some major changes around. And I think almost 99% of you all are aware of it. Foodbuzz, the biggest and most awesomest food blogger sharing community is switching to DailyBuzz. Say what?
Ok, yes it will be fine but how can we see all the bloggers in the world now? It is such a wonderful feeling when waking up to go check Foodbuzz and see all these different and delicious posts. Makes me breakfast hungry 😉

Ironic Comfort

The wind is whipping.

The frost is growing.

The sky is blue but it is so mocking.

The sun is shining yet is only a mirage of warmth.

The heaters are on, to no effect, my nails are pale yet my nose is red. I can no longer feel the tips of my ears.

As I climb out of bed, my heart is heavy, I need something to take my mind of the cold which is so prominent, I feel like I am trying to slash through it with a knife.

The Revenge Of The… Chocolate

Yoda: “Only the Dark Lord knows of our weakness”

In a galaxy not so far far away, the dark lord returned. Garbed in a dark covering, he beckoned using his force and the influence he wielded over the weak, the powerless to turn them into his minions.

Darth Vader: “You don’t know the power of the dark side!”

He crackled open, releasing a fresh intoxicating yet dangerous aroma and entrapping us in his aura. He hid his inner self behind a thick coat, but I could almost taste the creaminess of…

timtam

Wait. You thought I was talking about Star Wars? Emperor Palpatine come to turn Earth into a Death Star? Flashing neon light sabers with clashing cool colours? The death of Liam Neeson… I mean Qui-Gon Jinn?

Hahaha, this is far worse.

Nothing Says Thank You Like Ice Cream

My blog now is almost half a year old. Even as I say it I cannot believe how much it has grown since then. From grotty pictures and posts which lasted one paragraph to a slightly more sophisticated style of photography and ultra long posts which I sincerely hope entertain you.

It is necessary though to say that I would never have lasted so long if it weren’t for all of you – the food blogging community – and my friends and family (who go without saying :D)

The Proper Way Of Dealing With School Blues

Before I begin this post, let me get one thing straight. I do not depression eat. But I am a baker (so you have seen throughout my holidays) and therefore am in dire need of relieving my deflated self at the thought of going back to school. And it is no longer just school. It’s senior school. And whoever I talk to jumps to the conclusion that being senior school, I am in for the tough.

I didn’t say Year 12, I said Year 11. Remember?

622But it does freak me out a little – a 17 year old me, peer support to little year sevens when I myself can remember that not-too-distance past? Hopefully getting my P-Plates. Ok, now I might need to eat because my heart rate has accelerated. Breathe… relax and remember – I can bake to relax 🙂

Nutella Baking Week Continued: Nutella Ice Cream

Before the real post begins, I am sorry to say I won’t be able to show you any frozen ice cream ball photos since it needs to freeze overnight or at least 5-6 hours and I won’t be home tonight to do the blog post. Sincerest apologies. But you won’t be angry in the first place. 512***************************************************************************** I think the entire blogging world knows the simple, quick and delicious Nutella Ice Cream recipes. Evaporated Milk + Nutella + Ice Cream Maker = Nutella Ice Cream Continue reading

Burning And Berries

Today, the weather is scorching. I am talking hitting up in the 30s, flies galore and my feet unable to touch the pavement.

Pool, fans, ice cold water – it is all useless today and though I was planning on pulling down my Christmas tree today, it just didn’t happen. These hot days make me want to sit around with the AC on full blast while I eat thick juicy grapes and ice cream with no limit.

I am feeling so lazy today that I am not even posting this blog post till now, when I actually should have done it at least 4 hours ago. I had the pictures (which were taken quite quickly due to the unbearable heat) ready to go and when I sat down on my laptop, BAM – I fell asleep *smiles sheepishly*

15Anyway, this very UV morning, I was lounging around, enjoying a bowl of ripe, sweet strawberries when it hit me. It hit me with fever so hot it was if I had swallowed the sun which is currently outside my window. I wanted perfectly creamy strawberry ice cream.

Welcome 2012 With Mangoes Turned Ice Cream

I wrote in my diary today. I have to mention this obscure fact because I got such a thrill in writing the date – January 1st (whatever) 2012!!!

I cannot believe Christmas, New Years, it has all gone! The festive season is closing to an end again already – just when you think it has all begun!!! But never fear – after all, with 2012 comes new school year, new experiences, new people and lots of new things to do!!! And I am still on holidays for 1 WHOLE MONTH still (jealous?) 😛

5In order to commemorate this new year and the fact that Summer is finally making an appearance in our obviously very cold Australia (today is a whopping 28 degrees with blue skies for as far as the eye can see :D), I decided to make something simple, easy and refreshing – I think that screams ice cream, but not the French custard style ice cream, but the Philadelphia style (because it is so much easier!)
