CCU Undercover: Millone’s Ristorante & Bar

Please donate to the Nepal Region Earthquake Appeal. I don’t think I need to give a reason why, and if you haven’t already done so, what are you waiting for? It doesn’t need to be big, just come from the heart. Everything counts.

If I have learnt anything in my life, it is that Italian food offers the greatest source of comfort food, out of any other cuisine. I don’t know if it just me, but when it is wet, gloomy and I need some serious food hits, Indian curry or Asian noodles are not satisfying enough.

No, what I need is a big, wholesome plate of carb-loaded, sauce-fuelled pasta with some hunkering pieces of garlic bread on the side, topped off with a giant pizza (for one). So when we ended up at Millone’s late on a chilly, rainy and of course, windy, that craving was quite fulfilled…

The safety video will be shown shortly, and if you require any assistance throughout the flight, feel free to press the button located on the left of your armrest to call for an attendant.

Once again, we thank you for flying via Air Guru and hope you have an entertaining flight.

… Kind of been ingrained into us Aussies since before we started kindergarten, so please forgive the outburst.

Though honestly, there is nothing to forgive, because, well, it is Australia Day, and I am pretty damn proud to be able to show my patriotic nature 😀

Whenever I think of Australia, I feel so so sooooo lucky, because there are a lot of things to love about it!

Holiday Post #3: White Christmas Slice

With Christmas only one week away, I am sure you are seeing many of the following categories of people:

  1. People with different accents – visitors, family, friends, globally congregating to spend the festival with their loved ones
  2. Street Santas – Be they for charity or hired for photos, Santas are everything (though the Scottish accent is not always in place :P)
  3. The Runners – People literally marathon-ing it through the shops, trying to find last minute presents for people they forgot or for those who have just gotten off work for the holidays
  4. Christmas Carollers – Though not so common in Australia, I am sure other places are seeing a flurry of warmly dressed, candle holding bunch singing Silent Night, acapella style 🙂

My Logo

Can you not feel the Christmas spirit in the air? 🙂 – And with only a week to go, next post (if my jet lag has not stopped me from baking) will mean one very Christmassy recipe!

Where am I right now (or where will I be when this post is published?) – I am dancing in grass skirts, flowers in my hair and a big piece of pineapple in my mouth – yep, through my super subtle clues you guessed it – Hawaii! 🙂

While I bathe under the golden sun, feel free to try this recipe I am sharing with you wonderful people – one of my most popular christmas presents when I made it, it is just gorgeous 😀
And it is super simple too!

Chocolate Shortbread Meets Coconut Cream Pie Xmas Present

The season is finally upon my household! And the Christmas baking has begun! 🙂

Don’t you love this time of the year???
Well, silly question – everyone does. Let us move on.

I am not a traditional dessert maker. Just because it is Christmas doesn’t mean I make red, green and white cakes only or bake gingerbread houses. I bake what I feel like and incorporate my own Christmas spirit into it – a.k.a Love and utter enjoyment.

33Now see, this coconut chocolate slice seemed to embody exactly what message I was trying to convey – and it was totally in theme with my coconut cravings this week as well 🙂
