CCU Undercover: Millone’s Ristorante & Bar

Please donate to the Nepal Region Earthquake Appeal. I don’t think I need to give a reason why, and if you haven’t already done so, what are you waiting for? It doesn’t need to be big, just come from the heart. Everything counts.

***********************************

If I have learnt anything in my life, it is that Italian food offers the greatest source of comfort food, out of any other cuisine. I don’t know if it just me, but when it is wet, gloomy and I need some serious food hits, Indian curry or Asian noodles are not satisfying enough.

No, what I need is a big, wholesome plate of carb-loaded, sauce-fuelled pasta with some hunkering pieces of garlic bread on the side, topped off with a giant pizza (for one). So when we ended up at Millone’s late on a chilly, rainy and of course, windy, that craving was quite fulfilled…

CCU Undercover: Almond Bar

I’m sorry that this review wasn’t last post like i had planned, but I felt like I needed to write about the tragedy. Thanks for reading it and sharing your opinions and thoughts.

Now, onto nicer things… like HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! 😀 😀

And also… my review… 🙂

Tucked away in the central streets of Darlinghurst, with full view of St Vincent’s hospital, is a quaint tiny place that is BOOMING with Mediterranean flavour inspired by beautiful Syria. You enter, it is comfy, you sit down, you get nice service, you taste the food and BAM!

You never want to leave again. I got you with those capitalised words didn’t I? Admit it 😉

Read on for a full review of a small but tasteful restaurant…

CCU Undercover: Ginger Indian Restaurant

Boy, do I have a story to tell you guys. But for that I would need a recipe as well to share with you. So yes, just going to bide my time and wait for that. Sorry! But also, before I begin, thank you all for making me feel better last ‘post’!

Till I write about the above, how about I get that spice back up and on your screen with a review of what is now officially, my family’s favourite Indian restaurant. I have reviewed a couple before, but they don’t hold a candle to this.

And remember I’m Indian. So if we say this Indian place is that good, you know you better believe it! 😛

Guest Post: Mademoiselle Mange A Sydney

Bonjour tout le monde! Haha, back in a little bit of a french mode there because today’s guest poster we have an awesome-sauce (wow that is SO not french) Mademoiselle!  😀

I met Mademoiselle at a few events and we super hit it off, so I was so glad that one of Sydney’s top reviewers would be guest posting with her own French delicacy of a recipe today! It will be one spicy post, if you know what I mean!

Jokes, how could you, you don’t even know what the recipe is yet! Alright, I will stop speaking rubbish as I do, go enjoy this post and I look forward to writing again for you beautiful people soon! 🙂

CCU Undercover: Rise & Dine w/ Bill Granger

Exams? Pssht. CCU would rather attend an event. Obviously it is more important 🙂

But, no really it is! This event (as you can probably tell by title) is all about the importance of eating breakfast and how Australians really need to up their breakfast game! CCU has done so many breakfast posts in the past, you should all know by now she has a passion for this meal!

Read on, go forth and enjoy because after this, cross her heart and hope to die, you won’t be seeing CCU till December (with some Christmas presents in tow 😉 )

CCU Undercover: Three Williams

CCU got off at the wrong bus stop. Typical. What else would you expect from a girl with a big reliance on google maps, a lack of direction and a stomach that had barely been fed since breakfast.

Huffing and puffing, but blowing down no houses, she marched up Elizabeth St. Then down it. Then up again… where was she going? Finally, her google maps gave her a little relief and started working again, leading her to the cafe.

Classically of course, she almost missed it. But that iconic symbol caught her thank GOD and she hustled her way down the steps and into the sweet smelling paradise.

Brasserie Bread Extravaganza Part II

CCU was still eating bread from Brasserie Bread , despite this being almost a week and a half after she had received it. Her mother’s tip about aluminium foil wrapping, plus the cold, rainy weather, kept it so moist.

But you must be asking, CCU giggled, why she was eating bread after so long still? Well… perhaps you may remember, but in the last post, she showed you a quick shot of how many breads she had taken home to try. Did she have regrets?

Nope.

Even after finishing a gluten free baking class full of bread, she just could not get enough.

Perhaps, she thought, her readers would understand why after seeing her photos?

CCU Undercover: IPPUDO Sydney

Classy location. Check.

Classy interior. Check.

Happily screaming welcome from the staff. Check.

There was no doubt in CCU’s mind that she most certainly had made it to the right restaurant. After all, IPPUDO was known for its unique atmosphere 😉

But just how unique, CCU pondered, was the food?

review title

IPPUDO is located on the fifth level of the awesome Westfield shopping centre right in the heart of Sydney CBD. You meander through various cuisines all bunched up together, wondering where it could possibly be, before running into it a little to the side, away from the others.

And that is totally cool with everyone 🙂

CCU Undercover: Cafe Boheme

Honestly, I think each time I break my apparent vows of silence on my blog, I feel guilty enough to host another giveaway – while it is not my Blog Birthday giveaway, it is important and coming up soon 😀

I guess that is good for you all, though I hope you haven’t missed me too much! I kind of deserve any frustrated tomatoes thrown my way so go ahead, I have got my eyes shut tight!

Final Post 2012

Wow ok guys so it has been a while, has it not? Honestly, I would have posted sooner but as busy as exams were… let’s just say post-exams got a lot busier 😉

I wish I could say I am here to stay but guess what my darlings… I will be on a plane this Friday!

Hahahahahaha… funny is it not that the world ends this Friday too? I can imagine casually trying to find a place to land 😉

Anyway, away from such morbid thoughts, ma famille et moi, we are spending our Christmas and New Year in India surrounded by large masses of relatives all cheek-pinching and question-asking, claiming how grown up we are. Honestly, I have to wonder, is it a relative thing? Whether I was 8 or when I will be 18, I will always have room to appear ‘grown up’ 😉

Anyhow, I just wanted to wish you all a very, very Merry Christmas this year and an awesome New Year!!! Best of luck with all your resolutions (even if they don’t include cooking ;)) and I toast you with classy apple-juice-in-champagne-glass for a fabulous year to come.
